Palmer's Passages

And so it begins. I have been sending various "Palmer Updates" to folks via email, but I thought it was about time to get fancy. I figure that this way I can keep folks up-to-date on the happenings of my crazy life, without sending old-fashioned mass emails. I hope you enjoy my updates, random comments, strange sense of humor, and delightful pictures. It is my hope that Palmer's Passages will cure all known diseases, end world hunger, and bring back "Animaniacs". Enjoy.

Leap of Faith


This piucture was taken well over 4 years ago when I jumped off a diving board that was randomly sitting 35-feet above the Aegean Sea in Croatia. Two other buddies of mine joined me as we stripped down to our boxers and jumped into the cold water, not knowing how deep the water was or how safe the jump would be. We just knew we had to take the leap.

As I look back, I realize that I am taking a similar leap of faith. For years, I have dreamed of becoming a professional actor. I have been blessed in the fact that I have worked as an actor for the past 2+ years, but it's time to get serious.

A lot has happened in recent weeks that has made me finally realize that now is the time to go after the dream. In the next few weeks I will be taking out a loan to FINALLY make a Voiceover Demo, I will be SAG-Eligible, and I will be doing whatever it takes to accomplish my goal.

Sure, God may have some other career in store for me, but for the time being, my heart has been leading me in this direction and I believe it is God who speaks through my heart. So, I will take the risks, invest in the gifts God has given me, and press on towards the prize until I feel that my race has been run.

The words of Teddy Roosevelt will guide me (as they guided me during my presidency at Pepperdine),

"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly...who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who have never known neither victory nor defeat."

Here's to Spamalot, the cartoon world, the silver screen, the land of television, and whatever else God has in store for me!
